Wild Turkey Forgiven was originally created by accident: the Wild Turkey distillery team mistakenly mixed one of their high-proof rye whiskies with bourbon.
Master Distiller Eddie Russell liked the blend and told them that all was forgiven. Due to strong demand, a new batch was produced in each of the years 2013 - 2014. Forgiven consists of 78 % 6-year-old bourbons and 22 % 4-year-old ryes, which were stored in heavily burnt-out oak casks.
