This week we’re featuring 2021 Orbis Moderandi Red Nat from Waihopai Valley in Marlborough, New Zealand as our Wine of the Week!

This limited release Petillant Naturel made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes is produced by Hunter’s Estate, one of New Zealand’s top producers. All sustainably grown fruit, the wines reflect an artisanal example of Marlborough while keeping things as natural as possible in the vineyards. Orbis Red Nat is a unique unfiltered wine that sees 10 days of skin contact, but with only 2-3 pump-overs to minimize tannin extraction and maintain a fresh and juicy style with zero sulfites added. It’s lush, slightly effervescent, and bursting with flavors of cherry and blackberry along with hints of thyme and coffee beans.

This is a wonderful sipping wine for any season or occasion but will also pair nicely with charcuterie, shellfish, smoked salmon, oysters, salads, and most cheeses.
