Time to get spooky with the Velvet Devil Merlot! |

Get your spook on this Halloween with 2018 Charles Smith “The Velvet Devil” Merlot! Few winemakers have a story quite like Charles Smith. Born and raised in Napa Valley, CA, Charles didn’t discover his love for wines until moving abroad and managing a number of rock bands, including famed Danish duo, The Raveonettes. It was the wining and dining of rock n’roll life on the road that sparked his passion for great wine. Produced in Columbia Valley, Washington, The Velvet Devil is part of Charles’ Modernist Project. The intent of the project is to produce wines to be enjoyed now that are true to both varietal and terroir. The Velvet Devil has a nose of oak, plum and a touch of smoke. Slightly heavy on the palate, the wine features prominent flavors of dark berries, grilled plum and bittersweet cocoa. There is a rich, long, and velvety finish (thus the name) that lets this wine truly stand out against its competitors. Pairs nicely with roasted pork loin, grilled vegetables, burgers, or your children’s Halloween candy. (But you didn’t hear that from us…) 2018 Charles Smith “The Velvet Devil” Merlot will be on sale all week for just $10.99 while supplies last. Happy Halloween! |
