La Maialina celebrates the history, culture, and cuisine of Tuscany. This famous wine region in central Italy is known for its rich soil and favorable climate, which is ideal for growing several native grapes, specifically Sangiovese. The name, La Maialina (or little pig) references the Cinta Senese heirloom pig that originated in the Siena area during the 1300’s and is the only Tuscan native pig to survive extinction.

Gertrude is a luscious Tuscan blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. It’s a beautiful ruby red in the glass with aromas of sweet cherry, licorice, and vanilla. The smooth palate delivers notes of blackberry, raspberry, rhubarb, and cola with a tingly eucalyptus and spice finish.
